Renew your website certificate
Why this matters
An expired certificate causes a browser security warning. Customers may leave before they reach your site.
What to do
- Open the certificate or SSL/TLS section of your hosting account and check the expiry date.
- Renew a certificate that has expired or has fewer than 14 days left now. If it has fewer than 30 days left, check that automatic renewal is working.
- What to tell your web developer: Please renew and install the certificate, enable automatic renewal and check why any previous renewal failed.
How to check the fix
Open the HTTPS homepage without warnings. Run the checker again; if it can read the expiry date, it should report at least 30 days remaining.
