Search and sharing

Add a title and image for shared links

Why this matters

Open Graph settings suggest a title and image when someone shares your page. Missing settings can leave an incomplete preview.

What to do

  1. Find the homepage's social sharing or link preview settings. Choose a clear title and a suitable image you have permission to use.
  2. Publish both settings. The image address should be a full HTTPS address that works for visitors who are signed out.
  3. What to tell your web developer: Please add og:title and og:image meta tags to the homepage, using a full HTTPS image address. Meta tags are settings inside the page code.

How to check the fix

Run the checker again and look for a link preview pass. Try sharing the link too; services may keep an old preview for a while, and the checker does not fetch the image.
