Search and sharing
Give your homepage a clear page title
Why this matters
The page title names your page in browser tabs and search results. It helps customers recognise your business.
What to do
- Open the homepage's search settings in your website editor. Find the page title field; it may be separate from the visible heading.
- Write a clear title of 10–60 characters, including your business name. Save and publish the change.
- What to tell your web developer: Please set the homepage's title element in the page head to a clear business title of 10–60 characters. The head is the part of the page containing settings rather than visible content.
How to check the fix
Open the homepage and check its browser tab title. Run the checker again and look for a page title pass. Search results may take time to change.
