Make your homepage load properly

Why this matters

An error page can stop customers finding your business or placing an order.

What to do

1. Open your homepage in a browser. Note the error message and when it appeared.
2. Check your hosting account for service notices, an expired plan or a suspended site. Your host is the company that keeps your website online.
3. What to tell your web developer: The homepage returned an error in the checker. Please check the hosting logs, repair the cause and make sure the public homepage returns a normal page with status 200.

How to check the fix

Open the homepage while signed out. It should show your normal page. Run the checker again and look for a pass for the site answering.
