Website checks for dentists and clinics
Help patients find your practice, understand appointments and contact you with confidence.
Make the next step clear
Patients look for opening hours, treatments, fees and whether you accept new patients. Put your telephone number and appointment link beside that information. Keep urgent contact instructions easy to find, rather than leaving patients to work through a booking form.
Treat appointment details with care
Booking and enquiry forms may ask for names, contact details and a reason for visiting. Ask only for what you need at this stage. If your site collects personal details, data-protection law applies. The HTTPS and certificate checks matter because an encrypted connection protects details in transit and avoids warnings before a patient reaches you.
Check the booking journey on a phone
A patient may be booking while away from home. The viewport check looks for the setting that helps a page fit a phone screen. Open the site on a phone yourself, follow any link to a separate booking service and check that appointment choices and confirmation messages work. Our homepage check does not submit bookings.
Help patients recognise the practice
A clear page title helps patients recognise your practice in search results and browser tabs. The page-language setting helps screen readers pronounce treatment information. Email protection matters for appointment messages too: SPF lists authorised senders, while DMARC sets a policy for messages pretending to use your domain. Include your booking service when reviewing legitimate senders.
Checks to start with
- Turn on a secure HTTPS connection
- Renew your website certificate
- Set your page to fit phone screens
- Give your homepage a clear page title
- Declare the language of your page
- Set a policy for faked business email
The checker reads the public homepage, its connection and public email records. Use the results alongside your own checks of the pages and features your customers rely on.
